Perched on a hilltop 508 metres above sea level, Citta’ della Pieve is situated on Umbria’s border with Tuscany, over-looking Lake Trasimeno, and the enchanting Chiana valley. The medieval period has left its lasting imprint on this picturesque town. Adorning several of the town’s ancient churches are frescos by native-born, renaissance artist and teacher of Raphael, Pietro Vannucci (‘Il Perugino’).

Citta’ della Pieve is ideally situated for touring being close to both the major train station of Chiusi/Chianciano (8km) and the Autostrada del Sole (17km). Pienza, Montalcino, Todi, and Montepulciano are just some of the destinations which can be reached by car within 30-60 minutes. Lake Trasimeno, with all its water sports, can be reached within 20 minutes.
